I worked for:
- Geophysics.nl
- C-Factory
- Evident Interactive
- Centrical
- Albumprinter
All of these are consultancy companies that have something to do with application development - apart from the last one. Currently, I work for
Albumprinter as Chief Architect.
As Chief Architect I am responsible for the global software architecture of this enabler for personal publishing. The architecture ranges from photo book editors to platform. It includes even the production facility procedures and support software. It's fun.
Geophysics.nl
The Geophysical exploration method, processing tool and results of Sander's graduation project at the University of Utrecht were presented at the EEGS conference in Budapest, Hungary (1999). This led to the founding of Geophysics.nl: a dot-com in geophysics. It was a lot of fun, but it didn't last very long: we stopped doing geophysical stuff in 2001.
Geophysics.nl was terminated due to several reasons. The conservative Dutch geophysical society was reluctant to participate in experimental software initiatives. In the meantime, the international geophysical software vendors developed software according to the ideas Geophysics.nl embraced. As a result, the staff became much more involved in other Internet concepts.
C-factory
In the years 2000-2001, I worked for C-factory as a technical project manager. This used to be one of the rapidly emerging web builders. I was the one responsible for requirement gathering, architecture design and technical management. Projects included web applications for Elsevier Business Publications, Falk Courier, NRC, AKN and more.
C-factory ceased to exist in the collapse of the Internet bubble in mid-2001.
Evident Interactive
From 2001 to 2004, I was senior business analyst for Evident Interactive. For this Microsoft specialist I participated in projects for customers like Akzo Nobel, KPN Hi, DTZ Zadelhoff, Ballast Nedam, VNU Exhibitions Europe, Sanoma Publishers and more.
In may 2004, it was time to say goodbye to Evident Interactive and completely focus on Centrical. However, Evident Interactive is still a valuable partner.
Centrical
During the years 2002/2003, Centrical was a playground for new ideas and concepts. It wasn't until 2004 that it turned into a consultancy company, using its network built in the first few years.
Since then, I serviced customers like Akzo Nobel, HvU, HKZ and more.
From 2006 and on, Albumprinter employed me, so Centrical got back to where it begun: a melting pot of lots of things.
