Bangkok thunderstorms

Hi all! The loudest thunderstrike i've ever heard came by tonight. My eardrums held up pretty well (which is not as logical as it might sound, after the ear disaster at Lowlands Festival), but it scared the hell out of us: i thought the world would come to an end.

But let me start with the beginning. Our flight was excellent, Lauda Air rules (minor comment: the earphones were of the kind that you "hang up" on each ear seperately... I wondered: how would Nicky Lauda himself do that?).. The people in the plane were a freak show, though. Lots of monstruous Austrians with moustaches and small thai girls, plus a couple of psychiatrically disturbed people.

In bangkok it is humid and hot as we expected, but not nearly as crowded as last year. Good for us! Recovering from jet lag, we wandered trough the city, smelly and foul as ever. At night the hugest rain showers come down, it's like a water curtain rather than the rain we know in Holland.

Tonight we leave for Koh Phangan, for some partying and serious thunderstorms.. The six-and-a-half hour boat trip on waves with a 4 meter amplitude at sea already excites me right now!... I'll keep you all posted. Love, Sander (and Mascha)..
