At Albumprinter, I am the chief architect since 2006.
Albumprinter is one of the largest providers of services to create personalized photo books. The company offers consumer software, order platform, production facility and transportation services. Business customers are several large retail chains, and Albumprinter's own consumer brand Albelli.
I am responsible for the software architecture vision at Albumprinter. My tasks are to
- Define the IT strategy, together with CTO and CEO;
- Translate strategic objectives to IT solutions;
- Determine feasibility of project proposals;
- Guide innovation with respect to software development and internet marketing;
- Advise the management team.
Mainly, I try to connect the right people. As an agile architect (we use SCRUM in multiple teams all through the organization) it is critical to make sure that self-organizing team efforts converge.
