Microsoft en open-source wiki's was eerder te lezen op Infoworld.
Zogenoemde wiki's zijn erg populair bij softwareontwikkelaars vanwege de samenwerkingsmogelijkheden die ontstaan binnen teams. Microsoft is op dit gebied actief met Windows Sharepoint Services. Toch voelde de softwarefabrikant de noodzaak een open-source-alternatief te ontwikkelen en kwam met FlexWiki op de markt. Zaagt Microsoft aan zijn eigen stoelpoten?

Trust, contracts and UDDI"Does anyone still believe that web services will be published and consumed indiscriminately on the open Internet? I keep on seeing references to that early vision as if it's still alive, but surely everyone realizes by now it was just a geek pipedream, the idea that your servers would just go out on the Internet and 'discover' services listed by all-comers in registries conforming to the pompously-named "Universal Description Discovery and Integration protocol" (ie UDDI)."

Gooi niets zo maar weg
Gooi niets zo maar weg was eerder te lezen op Infoworld.
Nieuwe hardware is sneller en goedkoper dan oude. Nieuwe software kan meer dan de oude. Nieuw is dus beter dan oud. Het is een wijsheid die helaas niet altijd op gaat. Investeren in de toekomst; het klinkt logischer dan het soms is. Vervang niet zomaar systemen. Wie weet is er een andere optie in hergebruik.
