Got Good Rhythm?

"Why do some projects churn, but not make much progress, while others seem to fly by? All projects have a rhythm, and that tempo changes over time. I've worked with a variety of teams and have learned something about why some projects seem to flow, languish, churn or end in a reasonable amount of time."

Microsoft Office Web services bridge

"Expanding on its vision of Office as a front end to business applications, Microsoft Corp. on Monday announced the trial release of a software bundle that allows developers to link business systems to Office applications using Web services.

The bundle, called Office Information Bridge Framework, includes an Office add-in for interpreting XML (Extensible Markup Language) metadata, a server component that exposes data, views and actions of a Web service, and a metadata designer that plugs into the Visual Studio developer tool, Microsoft said at its Tech Ed user event in San Diego."

Professional history

I worked for:
  • Geophysics.nl
  • C-Factory
  • Evident Interactive
  • Centrical
  • Albumprinter
All of these are consultancy companies that have something to do with application development - apart from the last one. Currently, I work for Albumprinter as Chief Architect.

As Chief Architect I am responsible for the global software architecture of this enabler for personal publishing. The architecture ranges from photo book editors to platform. It includes even the production facility procedures and support software. It's fun.
